International Day of Peace television marathon airs September 21 on the Scientology Network
Scientology Network presents an International Day of Peace television marathon on September 21. The day’s programming is curated to illustrate the power of human rights education to create a more peaceful world.
In 2024, international laws continue to go unheeded as conflicts are on the rise around the world and millions are being displaced. According to the United Nations, peace is more under threat now than it has been at any time since World War II.
Observed annually on September 21, the UN declaration of the International Day of Peace calls for a 24-hour period of nonviolence. The ultimate goal of the day is to build mutual understanding and cooperation among nations to create a culture of peace.
The International Day of Peace Marathon (beginning 9:00 a.m. ET) includes:
- Voices for Humanity, the only ongoing television series dedicated to those working to bring human rights to their countries and handle other major social ills
- The Story of Human Rights film, an enlightening presentation of the history of human rights, from its origins to the present day
- Documentary Showcase: Liyana, the unforgettable, multiple award-winning film about African orphans healing through storytelling, and
- Documentary Showcase: Finding Home, an extraordinary mission to rescue and rehabilitate Cambodian girls who’ve fallen victim to sex trafficking.
